“É minha primeira vez andando no carro e me colocaram em uma situação muito difícil. Nunca tinha guiado esse modelo e já preciso batalhar pelo título com o Thiago Camilo. Com certeza não é das coisas mais difíceis que já fiz na vida”, afirmou.

Apesar da rivalidade direta, Dudu fez questão de destacar a importância de Camilo em seu desenvolvimento na equipe.
“O Thiago é um piloto que eu respeito muito. Ter ele como companheiro me ajudou demais a evoluir, observar como trabalha e me espelhar. Acho que o bom resultado vem por isso e pelo ótimo trabalho da equipe”, completou.

Adaptação ao carro e desafios técnicos

O piloto explicou que a adaptação ao carro da NASCAR Brasil tem sido um dos principais obstáculos.
“É bem diferente do que estou acostumado. É mais lento, o carro assenta no meio, e isso muda bastante. Geralmente sabemos mais onde está a zebra da esquerda do que da direita — e aqui é o contrário”, detalhou.

Dudu também comparou o carro da categoria ao Aston Martin que costuma pilotar.
“Meu Aston tem ABS e controle de tração; esse daqui não. Na minha opinião, isso deixa mais legal ainda de guiar, porque exige mais do piloto. É muito fácil travar rodas ou distracionar, então fica bem mais bacana.”

Pressão, responsabilidade e um certo alívio

Além dos desafios técnicos, Dudu reconheceu a pressão emocional carregada dentro do cockpit.
“A pressão é muito grande, porque não estou correndo só por mim — represento meu pai. Mais do que feliz, fico aliviado de ter feito um trabalho decente”, disse.

Mesmo satisfeito com o desempenho inicial, ele reforça que o caminho até o fim da temporada ainda é longo.
“Tem muito trabalho pela frente, muitas variáveis que ainda precisamos checar. Espero continuar fazendo um bom trabalho. Está tudo na mão de Deus”, finalizou.

"Thiago is a driver I respect a lot. Having him as a teammate helped me a lot to evolve, observe how he works and to emulate him. I think the good results come from that and from the great work of the team," he added.

The driver explained that adapting to the NASCAR Brazil car has been one of the main obstacles.

 

"It's very different from what I'm used to. It's slower, the car sits in the middle, and that changes things a lot. We usually know more about where the left kerb is than the right one — and here it's the opposite," he detailed.

 

Dudu also compared the category's car to the Aston Martin he usually drives.

 

"My Aston has ABS and traction control; this one doesn't. In my opinion, that makes it even more fun to drive, because it demands more from the driver. It's very easy to lock the wheels or get distracted, so it's much more enjoyable."

In addition to the technical challenges, Dudu highlighted the emotional pressure related to the cockpit.

 

"The pressure is very high, because I'm not just racing for myself — I represent my father. More than happy, I'm relieved to have done a decent job," he said.
