The 2026 USF2000 Championship season opened with a bang on the streets of St. Petersburg during the traditional Firestone Grand Prix. Colombian Sebastian Garzon left no doubt about his pace and secured the championship lead after winning both races of the weekend, in a stage that served as a barometer for the ladder towards the IndyCar Series.

In the practice sessions, the traditional teams already showed their strength, and qualifying confirmed an extremely balanced grid, with minimal margins between the drivers.
