Ticktum lidera a tabela de tempos para a CUPRA KIRO no
primeiro treino livre em Madri
Dan Ticktum foi o melhor do resto pela CUPRA KIRO na
primeira sessão de treinos livres para o E-Prix de Madrid CUPRA Raval de 2026.
É uma corrida importantíssima para a equipe, especialmente porque seu outro
piloto, Pepe Martí, é o único espanhol no grid, já que a equipe ostenta uma
pintura especial da CUPRA neste fim de semana.
Ticktum se recuperou de um momento tenso na brita nos
instantes finais da sessão para marcar um tempo dois décimos à frente do grid.
O segundo melhor foi Nyck de Vries, que causou uma bandeira vermelha logo no
início após um acidente na chicane e foi forçado a voltar aos boxes mancando.
Depois de se preocupar com a direção do carro da Mahindra Racing, ele conseguiu
retornar à garagem e foi liberado para terminar o dia em P2.
Maximilian Guenther terminou em terceiro pela DS Penske, com
seu companheiro de equipe Taylor Barnard em quinto após a sessão de 40 minutos.
Pascal Wehrlein, da Porsche, ficou em quarto, entre os dois carros da DS
Penske.

A sessão começou às 16h30, horário local, com condições
climáticas variadas no circuito. Uma chuva leve caía há uma hora, mas não foi
suficiente para afetar a sessão, e os carros entraram na pista imediatamente
para marcar tempos.
A corrida foi interrompida quando Nyck de Vries bateu na
chicane no final de sua volta, provocando imediatamente a interrupção com
bandeira vermelha. Felizmente, o campeão da 7ª temporada saiu ileso, mas o
incidente danificou a asa dianteira e a direção de seu carro da Mahindra
Racing. De Vries conseguiu dar ré e voltar para os boxes, embora sem a asa
dianteira.
Mais tarde na sessão, houve um susto para seu companheiro de
equipe, Edoardo Mortara, que quase cometeu um erro semelhante e travou as rodas
antes da sequência final de curvas. Felizmente, ele conseguiu abortar a manobra
e escapar do mesmo destino, mas esse será um ponto crucial a ser observado no
dia da corrida amanhã.
Dan Ticktum saiu da pista a sete minutos do fim da sessão,

de meio segundo de vantagem sobre os demais pilotos até então, com o tempo de
1m29s403. Esse acabou sendo o melhor tempo do dia, sem que ninguém conseguisse
superá-lo.
O segundo melhor foi de Vries, que voltou à pista após o
incidente para terminar em segundo, a dois décimos do tempo de Ticktum. Eles
foram seguidos pelo DS PENSKE de Maximilian Guenther, com Pascal Wehrlein, da
Porsche, e Taylor Barnard, também da DS PENSKE, em quarto e quinto lugares,
respectivamente.
Ticktum tops the timesheets for CUPRA KIRO in first free
practice in Madrid
Dan Ticktum led the way for CUPRA KIRO in the opening free
practice session for the 2026 Madrid E-Prix (CUPRA Raval). It’s a crucial race
weekend for the team, especially with teammate Pepe Martí being the only
Spanish driver on the grid, while the squad runs a special CUPRA livery for the
event.
Ticktum bounced back from a tense moment in the gravel
during the closing stages to set a lap time two tenths clear of the field.
Second fastest was Nyck de Vries, who triggered an early red flag after
crashing at the chicane and was forced to limp back to the pits. After concerns
about the steering on his Mahindra Racing car, he managed to return to the
garage and was later released, finishing the session in P2.
Maximilian Günther placed third for DS Penske, with teammate
Taylor Barnard in fifth after the 40-minute session. Pascal Wehrlein, driving
for Porsche, slotted into fourth between the two DS Penske entries.
A session with mixed conditions
The session got underway at 16:30 local time under mixed
weather conditions at the circuit. Light rain had been falling for about an
hour, but it wasn’t enough to disrupt running, and drivers headed out
immediately to set lap times.
The action was halted when de Vries hit the chicane at the
end of his lap, instantly bringing out the red flag. Fortunately, the Season 7
champion was unharmed, but the incident damaged both the front wing and
steering of his Mahindra car. He managed to reverse and return to the pits,
albeit without the front wing.
Later in the session, there was another scare for his
teammate Edoardo Mortara, who nearly made a similar mistake, locking up before
the final sequence of corners. He was able to abort the move and avoid the same
fate, but it’s a key area to watch ahead of the race.
Ticktum ran off track with seven minutes to go, but it
didn’t stop him from delivering a rapid lap shortly after, going over half a
second clear at the time with a 1:29.403. That ultimately stood as the fastest
time of the session, with no one able to beat it.
De Vries secured second after returning to the track
post-incident, finishing two tenths behind Ticktum. He was followed by Günther
for DS Penske, with Wehrlein and Barnard completing the top five.
