Largada caótica define o rumo da corrida

“Freiei no meu ponto habitual, mas os carros da frente foram além do limite. Aproveitei o vácuo e já assumi a liderança antes do esperado”, explicou o vencedor, que passou a controlar o ritmo sob forte pressão de Max Taylor na primeira metade da prova.

Taylor consistente, mas sem espaço para ataque

Max Taylor terminou em segundo lugar e somou seu quarto pódio na temporada, mantendo a vice-liderança na disputa pelo campeonato, agora a 14 pontos do líder.

“Perdi posições na Curva 1, mas o carro estava muito forte. O problema é que ultrapassar aqui depois da largada é extremamente difícil”, afirmou o britânico.

Apesar do bom ritmo, Taylor não encontrou oportunidade clara para atacar o líder, evidenciando a dificuldade de ultrapassagem no traçado de Indianápolis.

Fittipaldi garante mais um pódio

Enzo Fittipaldi largou em sétimo e rapidamente avançou com ultrapassagens agressivas nas primeiras voltas. Na parte final, porém, precisou focar na defesa.

“Os pneus traseiros já estavam no limite e eu tinha menos Push-to-Pass que os carros atrás. Defendi até o fim, mas foi uma disputa dura e limpa”, disse o brasileiro.

Com isso, Fittipaldi fecha o fim de semana com vitória na Corrida 1 e terceiro lugar na Corrida 2, permanecendo firme na briga pelo campeonato, apenas 16 pontos atrás da liderança.

Pneus e Push-to-Pass definem a estratégia

A degradação dos pneus foi determinante para o resultado da prova. Os pilotos que conseguiram poupar compostos no início tiveram vantagem decisiva no final, o que gerou disputas intensas roda a roda.

Kucharczyk também enfrentou dificuldades com vibração e desgaste nas voltas finais, mas conseguiu ajustar o carro e manter a liderança até a bandeirada.

“A pista tem um estilo mais europeu. Eu já havia testado aqui antes, o que ajudou bastante”, comentou.

Chaotic start shapes the outcome

Starting from fifth on the grid, Kucharczyk capitalized on Turn 1 chaos to immediately gain positions. With a perfectly judged braking move, he passed three cars in the opening phase and took the lead early on.

“I braked at my usual marker, but the guys ahead went a bit over the limit. I used the slipstream and took the lead earlier than expected,” said the winner, who then controlled the pace under pressure from Max Taylor in the first half.

Taylor consistent but unable to attack

Max Taylor finished second, scoring his fourth podium of the season and maintaining second place in the championship — now just 14 points off the lead.

“I lost positions in Turn 1, but the car was really strong. The issue is that overtaking here after the start is extremely difficult,” said the Briton.

Despite strong pace, Taylor never found a clear opportunity to challenge the leader, highlighting how difficult passing is on the Indianapolis road course.

Fittipaldi secures another podium

Enzo Fittipaldi started seventh but quickly moved forward with sharp overtakes in the opening laps. In the closing stages, however, he had to focus on defense.

“My rear tires were completely gone and I had less Push-to-Pass than the cars behind. I defended until the end, but it was a hard and fair battle,” said the Brazilian.

He ends the weekend with a win in Race 1 and a podium in Race 2, staying firmly in the title fight, just 16 points behind the championship leader.

Tires and Push-to-Pass define strategy

Tire degradation proved crucial in determining the outcome. Drivers who managed their compounds early gained a significant advantage in the final stages, leading to intense wheel-to-wheel battles.

Kucharczyk also faced vibration and tire wear issues in the closing laps, but managed to adjust his car balance and hold on until the finish.

“The track feels more European. I had tested here before, which definitely helped,” he said.

Championship tightens after Indianapolis

The result further tightens the title battle:

• Kucharczyk moves up to 2nd in the standings

• Taylor is now 14 points off the leader

• Fittipaldi sits 16 points behind

With three drivers closely packed, the championship remains wide open. Race control praised the intensity of the event and the strength of the podium finishers. Next stop is Detroit, where the title fight is expected to intensify even further.
